sports week

In 1j we have been doing all different activities and after we had some water.
In the begining we had a race and yellow team came first and blue came second.
Then we had a ladder race which you have to jump between the gaps, and blue came first then yellow came second.
Then after that we had to jump around the cones and red and yellow had a draw and next came green team.
Next everyone had a bench race, and what we had to do was run to the cone and then you had to run back as fast as you could.
Straight after that we had to skip around the cones which was very difficult.
Finally the last thing we did was ate Ice-cream and then the race was happening and in 1j sydney and some other people won aswell.
The very last thing was to go back into class to work and it was nearly lunch time.

Lighthouses

In year 1 this week we have been looking at Lighthouses. We read a book called 'The Lighthouse Keepers Breakfast'. We learnt from the book that Lighthouses flash when a boat is coming into dock and the lighthouse guides the boats when they cant see where they are going.

Our Trip To Colchester Zoo

On the 18th of June we went to Colchester Zoo, we had loads of fun and saw loads of different animals. We all split up into groups and went in different directions, at lunchtime we all met up to have lunch together. We sat on a big elephant and there were small ones to(they were fake), at the end of the day we all had a ice cream and we enjoyed it very much.

Maths Challenge Day

Today is Maths Challenge Day. This afternoon we are having a marshmallow and pasta challenge, we have to make something out of the pasta and marshmallows. The person who comes first get 3 merits, the person who comes second gets 2 merits and the person who comes third gets 1 merit.

Where The Wild Things Are

In year 1 this week we have been looking at a book called 'Where The Wild Thing Are'. In the book...

A boy called Max was in his room wearing his wolf suite and imagined a forest but he wasn't imagining it, it was real. In the morning Max sailed in his very own boat until he came to a island, there was loads of monsters and they played and played until it was night time.In the end Max was back in his room like nothing had happened.

year ones planting!

This week in year 1 we have been very busy.We have lots of instructions and if you want to make a plant then follow the year one instructions.Thankyou.Anyway look below to see the followings...

A plant pot
Soil
2 seeds
Water
Good weather.

First we get a plant to put soil in the pot.then we make a hole and put the seeds in the plant pot and cover up the hole.Next we add some water but not too much.Then find a nice and conferable place to put in.Finally check your plant and if it doesn't work you have done it wrong.Have another go and look carefully.

Numbers

In year 1 we have been looking at numbers. We learnt numbers 1 to 10 and 1 to 20 like 1+9=10 and 1+19=20, Miss Jones taught us how to count in easier ways to count. Miss Jones also gives us merits when we get all of the answers wright.
