Ordering

This morning in 1J we were learning about 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and more. We had to cut racing cars out of paper.
Written on the cars was 1st, 2nd , 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.

We then had to put them in order.
It was hard work.

Mehndi Patterns

Today in 1J we have been colouring Mehndi patterns. There was a hand drawn on paper, and we had to follow dotted lines that curled all around. There was ovals, circles and cocoon shapes. We used different colour pens.

Stranger danger

This week in year 1 we had a special visitor to talk to us about stranger danger. A police woman came into 1M on tuesday afternoon and read the children a story about a girl who went in the park and came across a stranger. The stranger invited the girl to see his puppies. The little girl remembered what her mummy told her. NEVER talk to, or GO ANYWHERE with a stranger. The police woman invited 1M to ask any questions they had about the story and about strangers. The children learnt a lot from the visit and will hopefully remember the safety tips given to them.

Dates for your diary

Next Friday morning (17th September) we will be having our Autumn Term class talk. This will be an opportunity for parents/guardians to find out our plans for the coming term and to have a chance to discuss any queries you may have about your child's education. Tea and coffee will be provided.

The following Wednesday (22nd September) we will be paying a visit to Bethal Green Museum. All year 1 pupils should have received a letter concerning this trip.

Our first week in 1J

This week in 1J we have done lots of work. Monday was our first day back after the holidays, and some people were a little bit sad, some people were a little bit happy, and some people were excited. We did number work, and writing. In ICT we learnt how to use a touchpad/mouse and played a game called 'Mouseskills'.
Lots of people have received merits for their hard work.

Here is a picture of our first lesson, on our first day.

Our favourite toys

This morning we listened to a song called 'Seven' by They Might Be Giants. It was a good a song.

Today we have been thinking about our favourite toys. We all sat in a circle and then we told everybody about what toys we liked. We then sat at our desks and wrote and drew pictures of our favourite toys.
